It was a successful day for Ian Jarvis, the founder of Superyacht Supplies Ltd, who clinched the Class 5 Driver title in the 2022-23 MGJ Circuit Rally Championship whilst driving the impressive Reach Food Group x Superyacht Supplies Mitsubishi EVO9.
What started as an endeavour to have fun and gain valuable “seat time” quickly transformed into a dominating performance. Ian found himself leading and ultimately winning his competitive class, despite not participating in every round of the championship. When the final points were tallied, Ian secured the Class 5 Driver title with an impressive total of 103 points, overcoming some seriously talented and youthful competitors. It was a pleasure to see the impressively decorated Reach Food Group x Superyacht Supplies Mitsubishi EVO9 cruise to victory.
Ian’s rallying journey began in 2002 and has been nothing short of exceptional, taking him to rally circuits around the globe. In 2017, a significant change in UK government regulations allowed the use of English and Welsh public roads for motorsport. This development paved the way for Ian to return to the track. After acquiring the ex-factory Raliart Mitsubishi EVO9, Ian decided to enter the MGJ Circuit Rally Championship as a way of preparing for the much anticipated East Riding event (the first event to make use of the new government regulations). The MGJ Circuit Rally Championship is a prestigious competition that unfolds on six iconic race circuits, incorporating the track, service areas, and perimeter roads. Relying on experience, consistency and reliability, Ian made an impressive comeback to the world of motor rally racing by winning the event.
